About Flynn Petroleum
Flynn Petroleum is a family-owned and operated business that began as a humble fieldstone service station in 1946. Its location on Route 20 placed it on the major east-west travel route for the country, and it was an ideal location for servicing motorists.
With the advent of the Interstate Highway system and changing traffic patterns, Flynn's evolved into a large multifaceted business. Flynn's is still located at its original site, but today bears little resemblance to its meager beginnings. It has evolved from a two-pump services station to a modern travel plaza and bulk loading facility. Travelers and truckers alike can purchase anything from fast food in the convenience store to chrome accessories and electronics in the truckers' store now known as Flynn's Plaza.
In the mid 1970s, Ed Flynn Jr. took over the business from his father and added the innovative service of Fleet Petroleum, which delivered fuel directly to trucks and equipment at customers' facilities. Fleet Petroleum became known for fueling truck fleets throughout Massachusetts and has many customers who have been using this service for over 25 years. An entirely new concept at the time, Fleet Petroleum remains one of the few companies that have managed to successfully fuel onsite fleets to this day.
Al's Oil Service was acquired in 1985 to better serve residential customers, and that business has grown to become one of the largest home heating oil suppliers in the Worcester area.
Flynn Petroleum was created in 1995 to address the energy needs of the commercial and industrial markets, supplying everything from gasoline and diesel to heavy oils and heating oil. Our customer base has grown to include truck fleets, marinas, industrial and commercial users, hospitals, and property management companies.
